This 1989 Ferrari Testarossa was registered in California from 1991 until early 2021 and its acquisition by the seller, and it now shows 28k miles. Power comes from a 4.9-liter flat-12 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and it is finished in black over gray leather. Equipment includes a gated shifter, air conditioning, pop-up headlights, and power windows, while modifications include a Capristo exhaust system, 18″ Forgestar wheels, and Brembo brake calipers. An engine-out timing belt service was performed in June 2022. This Testarossa is now offered in New York with manufacturer’s literature, spare wheels, a Carfax report, and a clean Alaska title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in black and features pop-up headlights, side strakes, quadruple exhaust outlets, dual mirrors, and a front spoiler with an asymmetrical cooling duct. The Carfax report lists damage occurring to the left-front corner of the car in October 2003, with no additional information provided.
This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in January 2022 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.
Silver-finished 18″ Forgestar wheels mounted with 245/35 front and 275/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires were installed during current ownership, and the car is also equipped with aftermarket brake rotors and Brembo brake calipers. A mixed set of aftermarket wheels are included and shown in the gallery below.
The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in gray leather, a black leather-covered dashboard and console, and two-tone door panels. Amenities include a gated shifter, air conditioning, power windows, and floor mats, while modifications consist of an Eclipse stereo and a Kenwood satellite radio receiver that is currently inoperative. The seller notes a slow left power window.
The MOMO Gotham steering wheel is wrapped in leather and fronts a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows just over 28k miles, approximately 500 of which were added during current ownership.
The mid-mounted 48-valve 4.9L flat-12 was factory rated at 380 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque for the North American market. The seller states that an ignition coil pack has been replaced and the hood struts were replaced and an engine-out timing belt service was performed in June 2022. The intake plenum hose is split, and the seller states that a replacement component is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a dogleg five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A Capristo exhaust system is fitted along with high-flow catalytic converters, and additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
Manufacturer’s literature, service records, and modification literature are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned October 2003 damage report and lists registration, service, and emissions inspection history in California and Alaska beginning in 1991.
