This 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible was produced in October 1961 and was acquired by the current owner out of Nevada in 2015. Finished in white over a red interior, the car is powered by a 430ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. Features include a power-operated convertible top, a push-button radio, and 15″ wire wheels. Work completed during prior ownership included a repaint and an interior color change, while work during present ownership is said to have included servicing the brakes. This fourth-generation Continental is now offered on behalf of the current owner with a clean California title.
Finished from the factory in Sultana White (M), the car was repainted during prior ownership according to the seller. Features include a power-operated black convertible top, a chrome-finished grille, quad headlights, rear-hinged rear doors, and chrome treatments for the window trim, door hardware, and bumpers. Imperfections and paint chips are noted on the body surfaces, and the condition of the paintwork and trim are displayed further in the gallery below.
American Classic wide-whitewall tires are mounted on the 15″ wire wheels, which are equipped with three-eared knock-off spinner caps. A set of four factory-style full wheel covers will accompany the sale. Standard equipment includes power-assisted steering and brakes, the latter of which were serviced with a replacement master cylinder in 2019 according to the seller.
A red monochromatic interior treatment replaces the factory Light Honey Beige trim (84), including the replacement seat upholstery, door panels, dash, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes a dash-mounted headlight dimmer and an AM/FM radio. The seller notes the analog clock, the power door locks, and HVAC controls are inoperative.
Factory instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles.
The front-hinged hood opens to reveal a 430ci V8 equipped with a two-barrel carburetor, and factory-rated output was 300 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission.
Additional photos are presented in the gallery below and show the suspension, chassis, and driveline.
The car’s serial number reveals that it is a 1962 Continental convertible built in Wixom, Michigan and equipped with a 430ci V8 and a two-barrel carburetor. Further decoding the body plate provides the following production information:
- Body 74A – Lincoln four-door convertible

- Trim 84 – Light Honey Beige leather upholstery
- Date 03K – October 5th assembly
