This 1970 Plymouth AAR ’Cuda is one of 2,724 produced for the single model year and is finished in Alpine White over black. Power is provided by a 340ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The All-American Racer specification was created to meet SCCA homologation requirements and included a 340ci V8 engine, a unique fiberglass hood with a functional scoop, a rear spoiler, front spoilers, longitudinal strobe stripes, and a side outlet dual exhaust system. Additional equipment consists of a Hurst pistol grip shifter, triple two-barrel carburetor induction system, power-assisted front disc brakes, 15″ Rallye wheels, and a solid-state AM radio. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. This ‘Cuda AAR is offered with Galen Govier registry information and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Alpine White and features the AAR package which consisted of a fiberglass hood with a functional scoop, a rear spoiler, front spoilers, longitudinal strobe stripes, and a side outlet dual exhaust system. Additional features include a black grille and tail panel, hood pins, chrome bumpers, a body-colored sports mirror, and driving lamps.
The 15″ Rallye wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with E60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT white-letter tires. A space-saving spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with unassisted steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl joined by a matching dashboard, console, and door panels. Equipment includes faux woodgrain trim, a Hurst pistol grip shifter, a heater with a defroster, polished door sills, crank windows, lap belts, ‘Cuda-branded floor mats, and a solid-state AM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and battery voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 53k miles.
The 340ci V8 is fitted with a triple two-barrel carburetor induction system and features an orange engine block, intake manifold, and valve covers. The car was factory rated at 290 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
A Galen Govier visual inspection report along with additional production information from Galen’s registry is included in the sale.
