This 1961 Porsche 356B 1600S is a Reutter-bodied coupe that is finished in red over black and powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes dual carburetors, chrome 15″ wheels, front lap belts, and a cassette stereo. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2012 and underwent a cosmetic refurbishment in 2014. This 356B is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a copy of the Kardex, service records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
Originally delivered in Signal Red, the car received a glass-out repaint in 2014. Features include a chrome engine grille, a bullet-style mirror, a polished exhaust tip, and body-color bumpers with chrome guards.
Chrome 15″ wheels wear Porsche-crest hubcaps and 165/60 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The suspension was lubricated in 2021.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a split folding bench trimmed in black leatherette. Work during the refurbishment included recovering the seats as well as replacing the door panels and carpets. Equipment includes front lap belts, map pockets, and a JVC cassette stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a central tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 4k of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with dual carburetors and drives the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. An oil change was performed in 2021.
Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists production information and serial numbers. A copy of the Kardex and the seller’s service records are also included in the sale.
Additional images from the refurbishment are shown in the gallery below.
