This 1989 BMW 635CSi is powered by a 3.4-liter M30 inline-six paired with a replacement five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Alpine White over black leather. Equipment includes 17″ Style 32 wheels, a MagnaFlow exhaust system, a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, a short-throw shifter, an on-board computer, and a Kenwood CD stereo. The car has spent much of its life in California, Oregon, and Nevada, and work performed since 2021 has included a refreshed suspension, fluid changes, and a replacement transmission, battery, clutch, idle air control valve, and clutch cylinders. This E24 635CSi was purchased by the seller in 2022 and is now offered at no reserve with owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Alpine White and features a front spoiler, a sunroof, polished aluminum trim, and twin center-exit exhaust pipes. The power antenna was replaced in March 2021. Photos showing finish imperfections, as well as scrapes, cracks, and displaced trim along the rear bumper, are included in the gallery.
The 17″ Style 32 wheels are mounted with 235/45 Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires showing 2018 and 2019 date codes. The car is equipped with a MacPherson strut semi-trailing arm suspension that has been equipped with Bilstein shocks. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS. Service performed since 2021 has included a power steering fluid change and a replacement idler arm, steering hose and center link, hub unit bearing, control arms, and hub-centric rings.
The cabin features replacement power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior amenities include position memory for the driver’s seat, a weighted shift knob, a Kenwood CD stereo, an on-board computer, and power windows and locks. The dash cap was replaced in March 2021. The air conditioning does not work, and slider buttons are missing from the climate control panel. Photos in the gallery show wear on the interior surfaces as well as separation on the passenger seat’s bolster and passenger-side door panel.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and instant fuel economy. The six-digit odometer is stopped at 141k miles. The Carfax report shows mileage inconsistencies in February 2012 and December 2021. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter M30B35 inline-six was fitted with a MagnaFlow exhaust system in March 2021. Additional work performed in 2021 included a replacement battery, idle air control valve, air flow meter to throttle housing, fuse box cover, and vacuum lines.
Shifting is through a five-speed manual transmission that was installed in 2021 in place of the factory four-speed automatic unit. Additional work conducted in 2021 included a gear oil change and the installation of a short-throw shifter and a replacement driveshaft, clutch, clutch line, CV axle shaft, clutch cylinders, and seals.
The Carfax report is free from accidents or other damage, shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistencies, and lists registration history in California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada from an initial update in August 1991.
