This 2001 BMW M Roadster was purchased new by the seller from Pegasus Motorcar Company of Charlottesville, Virginia, and now has 55k miles. The car is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Imola Red over Dark Beige Oregon leather. Equipment includes Shadow-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a beige convertible soft top, a removable hardtop, an alarm system, a Harman Kardon sound system, power-adjustable and heated seats, a CD stereo, air conditioning, and cruise control. This M Roadster is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, a boot cover, a rear window cover, a toolkit, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
This M Roadster is one of approximately 1,760 North American market units finished in Imola Red for the model year. Features include a power-operated beige convertible soft top, a removable body-color hardtop, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. A boot cover and a rear window cover are included in the sale. According to the seller, discoloration is visible on the rear window.
Shadow-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Automatic Stability Control (AST), and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The tires are in need of replacement.
The cabin features Dark Beige Oregon leather covering the heated and power-adjustable sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, a CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
An M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 55k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six features double-VANOS variable valve timing and a Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system. Output was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker lists an initial delivery to Pegasus Motorcar Company of Charlottesville, Virginia, along with equipment, colors, and a total suggested retail price of $48,735.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Virginia since new. A recall regarding the DME was issued in September 2006.
