This 1974 Triumph TR6 is finished in Sapphire Blue over tan leather and powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the seller in 2017 from his father, and subsequent work has reportedly included reupholstering the interior, refurbishing the carburetors, and replacing the convertible top and the top boot as well as the trunk carpet, dash panel, rear bushings, clutch, battery, and tires. Equipment includes a black soft top, a chrome luggage rack, steel 15″ wheels, and a Kenwood CD stereo with aftermarket speakers. This TR6 is now offered with the manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, a tool kit, and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Sapphire Blue with chrome trim on the bumpers and rocker panels. Features include a black soft top with a zip-out rear window in addition to a chrome luggage rack, a driver-side mirror, TR6 decals, and twin exhaust outlets. Work since 2017 has reportedly included replacing the soft top and top boot as well as the windshield washer pump. Exterior blemishes are shown in the gallery below. The seller notes areas of paint touch-up around the body and that the floor pans were replaced under prior ownership.
Steel 15″ wheels wear 195/65 Michelin Defender T+H tires that show 2018 date codes. The seller states that the rear springs and bushings were replaced in March 2019
The cabin was reupholstered using a Moss Motors Custom Deluxe interior kit in Honey Tan leather, according to the seller. Equipment includes a wood dashboard, a locking glove box, and a Kenwood CD stereo with aftermarket speakers. The seller reports adding sound-deadening material and replacing the trunk carpet and dash panel in July 2020.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage are centrally mounted on the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller.
The 2.5-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, which the seller states were refurbished in August 2021. The oil was changed in December 2020, and additional work under current ownership has included replacing hoses, the spark plug wires, and the battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service under current ownership has reportedly included resealing the differential and replacing the clutch and hardened fork pin. The seller notes that fluids for the gearbox and differential were changed in September 2021. Rust under the left-front fender is highlighted in the gallery.
