This 1983 Mazda RX-7 was purchased new by the current owner’s late spouse from Misle Imports of Lincoln, Nebraska, and it now shows 82k miles. The car is finished in gold over brown vinyl and velour upholstery and is powered by a carbureted 1.1-liter Wankel rotary engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Features include pop-up headlights, a sunroof, 13″ alloy wheels, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and air conditioning. This FB RX-7 is offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of its current owner with manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, two sets of keys, a Carfax report, and a clean Nebraska title.
The car is finished in gold with brown pinstripes and is said to have been repainted in 2010. Exterior features include black side moldings, pop-up headlights, and a heated glass rear hatch with louvers. The Carfax report shows a 2004 accident involving another vehicle, which caused damage to the front of the car. The hood was reportedly replaced under current ownership due to vandalism. Close-up photos of the paint and trim are viewable in the image gallery below.
Factory 13″ alloy wheels were refurbished in 2008 and are wrapped in an older set of Michelin XGT 4 tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in brown vinyl with velour inserts along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities includes air conditioning, a sunroof, and an AM/FM cassette stereo.
A four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 130-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 82k miles.
The carbureted 1.1-liter 12A Wankel rotary engine was factory rated at 100 horsepower.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale. The window sticker shows factory colors and equipment as well as EPA-rated fuel economy and a total price of $12,075.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident and lists history with one owner in Nebraska from new.
