This 1966 Ford Mustang coupe was built in Metuchen, New Jersey, and it was acquired by the seller in Georgia in 2003. The car is finished in gray with black stripes over black vinyl upholstery, and power is provided by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ American Racing wheels, adjustable rear air shocks, a Mustang-branded stereo, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a fiberglass hood with a scoop, and tubular headers mated to a dual exhaust system. This Mustang is now offered with a collection of spare parts and Georgia registration in the seller’s name.
Originally Tahoe Turquoise, the car was refinished in gray with painted black stripes and features a fiberglass hood with a scoop as well as a left-side mirror, chrome bumpers and rocker-panel trim, and dual exhausts finishers that exit through the rear valance. The left door is dented near the hinge and can be viewed in the gallery below.
This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in March 2022 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle.
Staggered-width 15″ American Racing wheels with machined lips are mounted with Uniroyal tires measuring 205/60 up front and 235/60 out back. The car is equipped with Gabriel HiJacker adjustable rear air shocks that can be adjusted via a trunk-mounted valve, and braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Features include woodgrain trim, a Mustang-branded stereo, front lap belts, a heater/defroster, and Mustang-embroidered floor mats. The driver’s seat is torn, the top portion of the dashboard is not affixed, and the trunk seal gasket is not installed. Missing dashboard trim pieces and a replacement trunk seal gasket will accompany the car.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central 140-mph speedometer flanked by four auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 289ci V8 is equipped with a Ford Racing-branded air filter housing, Ford Motorsport-logo valve covers, an MSD ignition system, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and intake manifold, and tubular exhaust headers. The seller states that the engine leaks fluids.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is visible underneath, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
Decoding the data plate shows the following information:
- Body 65A – Coupe with Standard Interior
- Color U – Tahoe Turquoise
- Trim 27A – Aqua Vinyl
- Date 11G – Built on July 11th, 1966
- DSO 25 – Richmond
- Axle 6 – 2.80:1
- Trans 6 – Three-Speed Automatic
- 6 – 1966 Production Year
- T – Assembled in Metuchen, New Jersey

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold with its registration.
