This 1959 Ford F-350 was first registered in Chicago, Illinois, in February 1959, and was acquired in 2000 by the seller, who reports purchasing it from the original owner. The seller replaced the truck’s stake bed with a dump box with folding sides during a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2021 and included refinishing the body and frame, overhauling the brake system, and installing an electronic ignition system. The truck is finished in red over gray cloth upholstery and powered by a 292ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes power steering, an AM/FM radio, a cab heater, locking storage boxes, and a late-model Ford bench seat. This F-350 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a copy of the 1959 title, a 1959 sales banner, two spare tires on wheels, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The truck was finished in Meadow Green (U) from the factory and was refinished in red under current ownership. Additional exterior features include amber running lights, white mirror covers, checker-plate locking storage boxes, Ford mud flaps, dual exhaust finishers, a receiver hitch, and a Ford tailgate graphic as well as a bright front bumper, grille, and hood emblems. The seller states that the cab corners were replaced prior to refinishing, and that the frame was coated with POR-15. The 9′ dump box features folding sides with wood inserts as well as color-matched spray-in bedliner, and it is operated with an electric pump feeding a hydraulic ram.
The 17.5″ steel wheels are said to be powder coated in white and wear Michelin X radial tires up front along with Yokohama Super Steel 703B radial tires out back. Two spare wheels with Michelin tires are also included in the sale. The wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and brake lines were replaced under current ownership according to the seller.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in gray cloth that was reportedly sourced from a 2001 Ford truck. The cab floor and steps were coated with bed liner during refurbishment, and a black rubber floor mat was installed along with a replacement headliner. Controls for the heater and defroster are mounted below the dashboard, and the seller states that the radio has been converted to an AM/FM unit.
The black steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 232 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 292ci V8 was rated at 172 horsepower when new. It is equipped with a Holley carburetor and was retrofitted with an electronic ignition system during the refurbishment.
Power is supplied to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission that reportedly received a replacement clutch and pressure plate under current ownership. A replacement dual exhaust system is also installed.
The serial number F35C9G10418 on the data plate corresponds with the VIN on the Michigan title and decodes as follows:
- F35 – F-350 Conventional
- C – 292ci V8, two-barrel carburetor
- 9 – 1959 production year
- G – Chicago, Illinois, assembly plant
- 10418 – Production sequence
An operator’s manual is included in the sale with additional printed materials and a title stamped February 4, 1959.
