This 2001 BMW 740i Sport is finished in Alpine White over Sand Beige Montana leather upholstery and powered by a 4.4-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes the M Sport package, 18″ wheels, xenon headlights, fog lamps, a power sunroof, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), dual-zone automatic climate control, and an Avin head unit with Bavarian Soundworks speakers and a JL Audio subwoofer. The car was first registered in Arizona and spent time in multiple states prior to the seller’s acquisition in April 2022. Service in 2021 consisted of replacing the fuel injectors and front control arms. This E38 has 79k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a toolkit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Alpine White (300) and is equipped with xenon headlights with washers, fog lamps, a power-operated sunroof, power-adjustable side mirrors, a rear-view camera, and tinted windows. Chips are located on the windshield and blemishes are visible on the body, close-up photos of which are presented in the gallery.
Silver 18″ Style 37 wheels are wrapped in 235/50 front and 255/45 rear Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tires, which were mounted in February 2020. A spare is located in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with slotted and cross-drilled rotors, and the car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and an M Sport suspension. The brake pads and front lower control arms were replaced in December 2020, and the front control arms were replaced in May 2021.
The seats are trimmed in Sand Beige Montana leather upholstery and are complemented by a color-coordinated lower dash, door panels, and carpets. Wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels, and additional appointments include power-adjustable front seats with position memory for the driver, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and an Avin head unit with Bavarian Soundworks speakers and a trunk-mounted JL Audio subwoofer. Wear is noted on the driver’s seat.
A leather-wrapped M steering wheel fronts a 155-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 79k miles. The instrument cluster display was repaired in March 2020 due to dead pixels.
The 4.4-liter M62 V8 was rated at 282 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque when new. Replacement fuel injectors were fitted in January 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underbody are shown in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Arizona, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Texas.
