This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Signal Red over beige leather upholstery and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a body-color removable hardtop, a black soft top, fog lights, chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo. The car was purchased by the seller’s grandfather in 1994 and resided with him in Michigan until 2017, when it was acquired by the seller and relocated to Texas. This 560SL shows 82k miles and is now offered with removed parts, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Signal Red (568) and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a black convertible soft top. Additional features include European-specification headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The seller notes paint chips on the front-left fender and on the trunk lid, and blemishes in the paint can be seen in the gallery below. The removed US-specification quad headlamp assemblies will accompany the car.
Chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are wrapped in 225/65 Michelin Pilot tires showing 2002 date codes. The car is equipped with power steering, front and rear independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in beige leather along with matching door panels and carpets, while burl wood trim accents the center console and dashboard. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo, and power windows and door locks. Service completed in preparation for the sale reportedly included servicing the air conditioning system. The removed stereo will accompany the car.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 82k miles.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Service completed in preparation for the sale reportedly consisted of an oil change and a replacement battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan and Texas from the first entry in 1994.
