This 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and finished in metallic gray over black leather. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, Design 90 wheels in chrome, pop-up headlights, front fog lights, Bilstein rear shocks, cruise control, a JVC Bluetooth stereo, and automatic climate control. The current owner acquired the car in 2020 and has since added approximately 1,000 of the 84k miles shown. This 944 S2 Cabriolet is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with a car cover, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Titanium Metallic and was repainted under previous ownership. Features include side moldings, pop-up headlights, and front fog lights. The black soft top was replaced in 2022 and includes a top boot. Blemishes are shown close-up in the gallery below.
The 16″ Design 90 wheels are finished in chrome and are mounted with 205/55 Falken ZIEX ZE950 A/S tires showing 2020 and 2021 date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted ventilated discs. The seller reports services performed in 2022 included rebuilding the rear axles along with installing Koni front shocks, Bilstein rear shocks, and replacing the brake pads, rotors, tires, and ball joints.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console and door panels. Amenities include driver and passenger side airbags, cruise control, a JVC Bluetooth stereo, and automatic climate control. The trim is cracked near the left soft top mounting point, cracks can be seen in the upper dash, the upper portion of the left door panel shows signs of peeling, and the upholstery is cracked surrounding the right-seat adjustment controls.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 84k miles, approximately 1,000 of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter M44/41 inline-four features Bosch engine management and was factory rated at 208 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. The timing belt was reportedly changed in 2021, and additional services performed during current ownership reportedly included replacing the oil pan gasket, right motor mount, air conditioner compressor and dryer, cam timing chain and tensioner pads, roller bearings, water pump, and heater hoses. The air conditioning system has been converted to R134a, and the seller notes that there is an oil leak from an unknown source on the right side of the vehicle. The car last passed California emissions testing in May 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside can be viewed in the gallery.
The options sticker is present and decodes as follows:
- 454 – Cruise control
- 490 – Sound system
- 494 – Additional amplifier
- 533 – Alarm
- 573 – Air conditioner
- 593 – Bosch ABS
- 946 – Leather front seats with leatherette rear side
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, and history in California with entries beginning in 1992.
