This 1998 Honda Prelude is finished in black over black cloth upholstery and powered by a 2.2-liter inline-four linked to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, and an an AM/FM/CD cassette stereo, a rear spoiler, and 16″ alloy wheels. The car was first registered in Wisconsin and later spent time in California before being acquired by the seller in 2021. Subsequent work is said to have included performing a valve adjustment and replacing the serpentine belt, timing belt, tensioner, sway bar bushings, brake rotors, and brake pads. This Prelude shows 86k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory in Flamenco Black Pearl and was refinished under previous ownership. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, a rear spoiler, front fog lights, mudguards, and twin exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the left windshield wiper is worn.
Directional 16″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with wheel locks and wrapped in 205/50 Continental ExtremeContact DWS+ tires that are said to have been mounted in 2022. Corrosion is visible on the wheels, and work performed since 2021 is said to have included flushing the power steering and brake fluids as well as replacing the the sway bar bushings, brake rotors, and brake pads.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black cloth with patterned inserts. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM/CD cassette stereo, and power windows, mirrors, and door locks. Stains are visible on the carpets, and the seller notes that the speaker in the right door is weak.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,400-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 86k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.2-liter H22A4 inline-four features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 195 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. An oil change, a coolant flush, and a valve adjustment are said to have been performed since 2021 in addition to the replacement of the following parts and components:
- Spark plugs
- Ignition wires
- Rotor cap and distributor
- Timing belt and tensioner
- Serpentine belts
- Water pump
- PCV and IAC valves
Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch fluid was reportedly replaced under current ownership.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Wisconsin, California, Illinois, and Virginia.
