This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS two-door Sport Coupe is finished in red over black and powered by a replacement 409ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include air conditioning, electronic ignition, a hydroboost brake system, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Rev wheels, an Edelbrock intake manifold, dual four-barrel carburetors, and a retro-style digital stereo. The car was acquired by the seller’s late father in 2013, and subsequent work consisted of stripping and repainting the body and adding air conditioning, an automatic transmission, and disc brakes. This Impala SS is offered by the seller on behalf of their mother with service records and a clean California title.
The pillarless hardtop is finished in red and was repainted during current ownership. Features include a quarter panel-mounted antenna, 409 badging, engine-turned aluminum side molding and rear trim inserts, dual mirrors, quad headlamps, and triple taillamps.
The chrome 15″ Rev wheels are mounted with 235/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with a hydroboost braking assist system and power steering. Braking is handled by black-finished calipers over drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, a floor shifter, a dash-mounted ignition switch, polished door sills, crank windows, SS-branded floor mats, lap belts for all occupants, and a retro-style digital stereo.
The three-spoke SS steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, battery voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. An aftermarket tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the owner.
The replacement 409ci V8 breathes through an Edelbrock intake manifold and dual four-barrel carburetors. Features include a polished alternator and air conditioning compressor, finned valve covers, tubular headers, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. An oil change and coolant flush were performed in preparation for sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed automatic transmission.
