This 1973 Porsche 914 is said to have spent time in storage before being acquired by the selling dealer in April 2015 as an engine-less project, after which it received a repaint in red along with a replacement 1.7-liter flat-four, rear springs and dampers, and shifter bushings. Additional equipment includes a side-shift five-speed manual transaxle, a black targa roof panel, quad exhaust outlets, 15″ wheels, black vinyl upholstery, and a Sony CD stereo. This 914 is offered at no reserve with a removed factory fuel-injection system and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is said to have been repainted in the factory Bahia Red under current ownership. Exterior equipment includes chrome bumpers that were reportedly sourced from another 914, a black targa roof panel, pop-up headlamps, fog lights, a left-side mirror, molded rocker panel covers, an engine cover grille with gold Porsche script, a polished luggage rack, and polished quad exhaust outlets. A crack is visible in the front valance, rust is noted in the floors, and imperfections in the paint are presented in detail in the gallery.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with Yokohama Avid Ascend GT tires. Stopping power is provided by four wheel disc brakes. Work performed in preparation for the sale is said to have included replacing the rear springs and installing Koni dampers.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with a matching dash and trim. Replacement carpets are fitted in addition to manual crank windows, a left-side handbrake and a Sony CD stereo.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 1.7-liter flat-four was reportedly installed under current ownership and is equipped with dual carburetors and a Mr. Gasket electric fuel pump. The spark plugs were reportedly replaced and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a side-shift five-speed manual transaxle. The shifter bushings were reportedly replaced, and the seller notes that the shift action feels loose. An aftermarket exhaust equipped with heat insulation wrap shows corrosion. Detailed underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The removed factory fuel-injection system from the replacement engine is included with the sale.
