This 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser is finished in red over tan leather upholstery and is powered by a 4.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a dual-range transfer case, 16″ wheels, a sunroof, roof rails, the tow package with a transmission oil cooler, a receiver hitch, keyless entry, air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, and a CD/cassette stereo. The truck was initially delivered to Bill Lyons Toyota of Mason City, Iowa, but has spent most of its life registered in Nevada, where it was acquired by the current owner in 2018. Subsequent work is said to have included resealing the front timing cover, refinishing the wheels, installing a brush guard, reupholstering the front seats, and replacing the water pump, air conditioning compressor, brake pads, and radiator. This FZJ80 shows 308k miles and is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with an original sales invoice, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title.
The truck is finished in Medium Red Pearl with gray bumpers and features a brush guard, sunroof, running boards, roof rails, sliding cargo area windows, a rear window deflector, a rear window wiper, a receiver hitch, and gold badging. Blemishes in the paint, a rust bubble beneath the left taillight, and a dent in the tailgate are shown in the gallery below. The Carfax report states in an April 2005 entry that damage to the front and the right side was incurred when the truck hit a guardrail.
The five-spoke 16″ alloy wheels are said to have been refinished in preparation for the sale and are mounted with 285/75 Goodyear Wrangler tires. A spare is mounted below the cargo area. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the truck is equipped with front and rear stabilizer bars and coil springs. The seller notes that the brake pads were recently replaced.
The cabin features power-adjustable front bucket seats, a rear bench, and folding third-row jump seats trimmed in tan leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, floor mats, and a CD/cassette stereo. The front seats were reupholstered under current ownership. The driver’s door panel is cracked and other blemishes are shown in the gallery.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 308k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes the oil pressure gauge is inoperable and the “D” does not illuminate when in gear.
The 4.5-liter 1FZ-FE inline-six was rated at 212 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states that maintenance under current ownership has included the resealing of the front timing chain cover and the replacement of the water pump, air conditioning compressor, and radiator.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential.
The memorandum invoice shows initial delivery to Bill Lyons Toyota of Mason City, Iowa, and lists factory colors, options, and a total price of $49,118.
The Carfax report notes the aforementioned damage and lists registration history in Minnesota, Iowa, and Nevada.
