This 1980 Porsche 911SC Targa was modified with a steel slant nose conversion and wider rear fenders during previous ownership. The car is finished in metallic burgundy over a cream and dark red interior and powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a front lip spoiler, a tea-tray rear spoiler, a removable roof panel, aftermarket 15″ wheels, power-adjustable Recaro seats, and a JVC stereo. The seller acquired the car in 2022, and the battery was replaced in preparation for the sale. This 911SC Targa slant nose conversion is offered with a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
Steel slant-nose bodywork was added during previous ownership, along with flared rear fenders with straked inlets, rocker panel extensions, and a front lip spoiler. Said to have been finished from the factory in gold, the car was repainted metallic burgundy some time ago. Exterior features include a removable roof panel, a tea-tray rear spoiler, rear bumperettes, a power antenna, and a black-finished Targa bar. The seller states that the right-side headlight does not pop up fully and does not retract once switched off. The third brake light is attached with electrical tape, and other noted blemishes around the body include a crack on the bottom edge of the front bumper, tint failure on the rear windshield, Targa roof imperfections, and paint bubbles and cracks around the vehicle. A replacement rear windshield is included in the sale.
Aftermarket staggered-width 15″ wheels with white centers and Porsche crest center caps are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 205/60 up front and 275/55 out back. The seller recommends that the tires be replaced.
The interior features cream leather power-adjustable Recaro front seats with dark red piping, along with a matching dash, door panels, and red carpets. A JVC stereo has been added to the dash. The seller states that the air conditioning is inoperable, the passenger-side window is not aligned properly, and the driver-side sun visor is missing. Wear is noted on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. The rearview mirror is not attached to the windshield but will be included in the sale.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames replacement white VDO instrumentation consisting of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 220-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 39k miles. The odometer is inoperable and total mileage is unknown.
The fuel-injected 3.0L flat-six was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque and power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. Work completed in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the battery and performing an oil change.
Corrosion is noted on the underside and additional photos are available in the gallery.
