This 1969 Chevrolet El Camino is finished in black over black and powered by a replacement 396ci V8 paired with a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a FiTech fuel injection system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an aluminum radiator, a dual exhaust system with Pypes mufflers, power steering, power front disc brakes, SS wheels, and a retro-style digital stereo. The car has spent time in Montana and Oregon and was acquired by the seller in 1982. Subsequent work consisted of installing the replacement engine as well as adding FiTech fuel injection. This El Camino is offered in Oregon with a clean Montana title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and is said to have been repainted during current ownership. Features include a trailer hitch receiver, SS 396 badges, polished wheel moldings, quad headlamps, tailgate-mounted reverse lamps, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper.
The 14″ SS wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that measure 205/70 up front and 245/60 out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl joined by a matching dashboard, console, door panels, and carpets. Features include a center console, locking glovebox, polished door sills, crank windows, and a retro-style digital stereo.
The two-spoke SS steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. An aftermarket tachometer is mounted in front of the console. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 4,500 of which were added by the seller.
The replacement 396ci breathes through an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a FiTech throttle body with fuel injection. Features include an aluminum radiator, chrome valve covers, and tubular headers.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Turbo 400 transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. The seller notes that there is slack in the transmission. A custom dual exhaust system with an X-pipe and Pypes mufflers is installed.
