This 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT was initially delivered to Natoma Motor Sales of Natoma, Kansas, and was the subject of a refurbishment and custom build commissioned by the owning dealer’s shop in Statesville, North Carolina in 2021. The truck is finished in Raven Black over black upholstery and is equipped with a fuel-injected 460ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with Chromatic tape stripes, and modifications include a 4″ suspension lift, 15″ US Mags wheels, an aftermarket climate control system, and a RetroSound stereo system featuring Bluetooth connectivity. This modified Bronco is now offered by the selling dealer on behalf of the current owner, a North Carolina retail dealership, with a Deluxe Marti Report, build records, and a clean Montana title.
This example was delivered from the factory in Raven Black with chromatic stripes as part of the Free Wheeling Edition package, and the body was repainted during the refurbishment. Cosmetic details include a removable black fiberglass hardtop, low-mount Western side mirrors, a swing-away spare tire carrier, and black-finished bumpers.
The suspension is modified with a 4″ lift kit, and 15″ US Mags slotted wheels are fitted with 35×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KM3 tires. The truck is equipped with power steering and manually locking front hubs, and braking is handled by discs up front and drums at the rear.
The cabin is outfitted with front captain’s chairs and a folding rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with patterned cloth inserts joined by a matching black dash pad, center console, door panels, and carpets. Faux-woodgrain trim accents the dash panel and doors, and equipment includes a Bluetooth-equipped RetroSound stereo, an aftermarket air conditioning system, three-point front seatbelts, and rear lap belts.
Instrumentation is fronted by a three-spoke steering wheel and consists of an 85-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 460ci V8 is equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel-injection system, a CVF Racing serpentine accessory drive system, and tubular exhaust headers. An oil change was completed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a three-speed C6 automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
The Deluxe Marti report lists factory equipment, colors, and production statistics along with a build date of January 31, 1979.
