This 1973 Yamaha MX250 is powered by a 246cc two-stroke single paired with a five-speed transmission and was refinished in silver with yellow and white graphics under previous ownership. Equipment includes a cross-braced handlebar, plastic fenders, aluminum alloy rims, and knobby tires as well as a skid plate and a side stand. The seller acquired the motorcycle in November 2021, and subsequent work included flushing the fuel tank, repairing the cylinder dome and the reed-valve cage, rebuilding the fork and the 30mm Mikuni carburetor, and replacing the carburetor boot and gas cap as well as the clutch and shifter oil seals. This MX250 is now offered at no reserve in Georgia for off-road use only with a bill of sale.
The bike has been refinished in silver with replacement decals over a repainted black frame, and it features a replacement front number plate along with a skid plate, side number plates, plastic fenders, a black solo seat with a replacement cover, and a side stand. The 2.4-gallon fuel tank was flushed and fitted with a replacement cap in preparation for the sale.
Flanged alloy rims measuring 21″ up front and 18″ at the rear are laced to hubs with rebuilt drum brakes and are wrapped in Pirelli MT16 Garacross knobby tires mounted under previous ownership. Suspension is provided by a braced telescopic fork with black sliders and accordion gaiters as well as a pair of replacement shocks mounted to the swingarm. The seller states that the steering bearings were replaced under previous ownership. Service performed in preparation for the sale included rebuilding the fork and straightening the right fork stanchion.
The cross-braced handlebar is finished in black and fitted with replacement grips. No instrumentation is present, therefore true mileage is unknown.
The 246cc two-stroke single is equipped with a kick starter and a high-mounted expansion chamber that passes from right to left under the seat. The seller states that a replacement piston and piston rings were fitted and the oil-injection system was removed under previous ownership. Service in preparation for the sale included setting the timing in addition to replacing the carburetor boot, repainting and rebuilding the 30mm Keihin carburetor, and repairing a reed-cage leak and cylinder dome pitting.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a replacement chain rolling on a replacement rear sprocket. The clutch and shifter oil seals were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The bike will convey on a bill of sale only.
