This 1979 Jeep CJ-5 Golden Eagle is finished in Alpaca Brown over brown Levi’s Edition upholstery and is powered by a 304ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include an eagle hood graphic, a removable hardtop, a bikini top, a roll bar, Eagle Alloys 15″ wheels, 33″ tires, tubular headers, a dual exhaust system, and a rear-mounted spare. The truck was acquired by the seller as a project in 2021, and subsequent work included overhauling the fuel system, rebuilding the carburetor, and replacing the shocks, carpeting, alternator, and starter solenoid. This CJ-5 is now offered with a pair of removable doors, service records, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Alpaca Brown and features a roll bar with a mounted fire extinguisher along with a black bikini top, a rear-mounted spare, black fender extensions, a spotlight, and a folding windshield. A chip on the right side of the windshield was repaired under previous ownership, and the seller reports that the eagle hood graphic was replaced, rust repairs were made on the bottom of both fenders, and painted diamond plate strips were installed.
Eagle Alloy 15″ wheels are mounted with 33×12.50″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires. The truck is equipped with locking front hubs, and the seller states that Monroe-Matic Plus shocks were installed during current ownership. The master cylinder was bled in October 2021.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in brown Levi’s Edition upholstery, and the seller states that the carpeting was replaced following their acquisition. A push-button radio is mounted in the dashboard, though it is inoperative.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 90-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The seller notes that the oil pressure gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows under 74k miles, less than 1k of which was added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 304ci V8 was rebuilt under previous ownership in 2016, with work including polishing the crankshaft, reboring and sleeving the cylinders, and replacing the water pump and camshaft. Following the seller’s acquisition, the alternator, fuel tank, starter solenoid, and coolant hoses were replaced, the carburetor was rebuilt, and the timing was set. Hedman tubular headers have been installed and are linked to a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers fitted in October 2021.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The clutch was repaired and the shifter mount was rebuilt in 2021, and the undercarriage was treated with a rust-preventative material during prior ownership.
A removable hard top and removable doors are included in the sale along with service records.
