This 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4×4 is a regular-cab Styleside pickup finished in red and white over brown vinyl and patterned cloth, and it is powered by a 300ci inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes the Ranger trim package, Mickey Thompson 15″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, power steering, manually locking front hubs, bed-side mounted tie-down cleats, a diamond-plate toolbox, and a Pioneer stereo. The truck was reportedly repainted in 2021 before it was acquired by the seller in August of that year. Work completed under current ownership included installing the wheels and tires, changing the oil, and replacing the spark plugs and plug wires. This F-150 Ranger is offered with a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body was finished from the factory in Medium Copper (2) and was repainted in red with white sides in 2021, according to the seller. Exterior equipment includes bright trim, a chrome front bumper, a rear step bumper, bed-side mounted tie-down cleats, a diamond-plate toolbox, a rubber bed mat, a receiver hitch, and a single exhaust outlet behind the right-rear wheel. Images showing paint and trim imperfections are provided in the gallery.
Mickey Thompson 15″polished alloy wheels are mounted with 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich K02 All-Terrain T/A tires and were installed under current ownership, according to the seller. Equipment includes power steering, front disc and rear drum brakes, and manually locking front hubs. An alignment is said to have been completed in preparation for the sale.
The cab features a bench seat upholstered in brown vinyl with patterned cloth inserts which is complimented by a brown dashboard and door panels. Additional features include an analog clock, floor-mounted gear and transfer case selectors, a glovebox, a dome light, a black floor liner, and a Pioneer CD stereo. Cracks are visible on the top of the dash, and the seller notes that the glue on the door seals is deteriorating.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. The seller notes the steering wheel is off-center. Total mileage is unknown and the temperature gauge is inoperative.
The 300ci inline-six is equipped with a single-barrel carburetor, and work performed during current ownership is said to have included replacing the spark plugs and plug wires and changing the oil. The seller states that the engine will occasionally run on after it has been shut down.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a New Process four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The third gear is said to makes noise while driving, the transmission is difficult to shift into fourth gear when cold, and leaks are noted from the transmission and transfer case.

- F14 – F-150 4×4 pickup
