This 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC is finished in metallic brown over Palomino leather and powered by a 4.5L V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Becker Mexico AM/FM cassette stereo, Euro-spec headlights, fog lights, and 14″ Bundt alloy wheels. The car was acquired by the seller in 2014, and subsequent work is said to have included refinishing the body as well as replacing the rear seat upholstery, steering coupler, center link, and valve cover gaskets. This C107 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, a first-aid kit, parts receipts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory in Manganese Brown (480) and was refinished in its factory color in 2017 following dent removal, according to the seller. Equipment includes a metal sunroof, a power-retractable antenna, Euro-spec headlights, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller states that the front and rear bumpers were tucked during current ownership and that paint correction was performed in preparation for the sale.
Chrome 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are wrapped in 205/70 GT Radial Maxtour tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The seller states that a brake fluid flush was performed under current ownership along with installation of replacement brake pads. A replacement steering coupler, center link, and damper were installed in October 2021.
The cabin features front bucket seats trimmed in Palomino leather, and the rear bench seat is said to have been reupholstered in 2020. Burl wood trim accents the dash as well as the center stack, and additional appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, a Becker Mexico AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including an 85-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and a tachometer with an inset clock. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller.
The fuel-injected 4.5-liter M117 V8 was rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque when new. The valve cover gaskets are said to have been replaced under current ownership in addition to the spark plugs as well as the distributor cap and rotor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included the installation of a stainless-steel exhaust system as well as a 2014 rear differential fluid flush and a 2021 transmission fluid flush. The seller notes that corrosion is visible on underbody components.
