This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is powered by a 427ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission linked to a Positraction rear end. The car is finished in Sunfire Yellow over black vinyl upholstery, and features include side exhaust pipes, turbine-style wheels, air conditioning, a Delco AM/FM radio, and power windows. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2014 out of North Carolina, the car was awarded an NCRS Chapter Top Flight Award in 2019. This C2 coupe is now offered in California with NCRS scoring sheets, service records, and a clean Ohio title.
The fiberglass body was refinished in Sunfire Yellow (984) in 2000 according to the selling dealer and features polished moldings, retractable headlights, and split chrome bumpers. 1967 models equipped with the 427ci V8 were fitted with a unique hood featuring a “stinger” scoop, which is accented with black stripes on this example.
The 15” turbine-style wheels are mounted with Goodyear redline tires. Equipment includes side exhaust pipes and four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl with matching carpets, door panels, and dash covers. Equipment includes air conditioning, a vertical Delco AM/FM radio, an analog clock, a chrome shifter with a T-handle reverse lockout, and power windows.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as readouts for oil pressure, fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 427ci big-block V8 features hydraulic lifters along with a single Holley four-barrel carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end.
The engine identification stamp is shown above, and the suffix code “IL” depicted in the gallery below indicates a 427ci V8 with 390 horsepower paired with a manual transmission. Additional casting numbers and date codes are displayed in the gallery below.
Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
The car earned an NCRS Chapter Top Flight award in October 2019, and judging sheets are displayed in the gallery below along with other awards and memorabilia.
