This 1979 Ducati 900SS is finished in silver and blue and powered by an 864cc square-case L-twin paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes a black solo seat, Elektronik Sachse electronic ignition, a center stand, a steering damper, Dell’Orto carburetors, Borrani wheels, clip-on handlebars, triple Brembo disc brakes, and a tail section storage compartment. The bike was acquired by the seller in 2019, and subsequent work included repainting the bodywork, overhauling the carburetors, lining the fuel tank, refreshing the instruments, and replacing the windshield, wheels, tires, brakes, and more. This 900SS is now offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The bike was repainted in silver with blue accents under current ownership and features a matching frame that uses the engine as a stressed member. Equipment includes a front fairing and a cafe-style tail section with a storage compartment as well as a steering damper, a center stand, and a Euro-style license plate bracket. The seller notes there is a ding in the fuel tank from contact with the throttle housing, a scratch in the replacement windscreen, and the license plate in the photos is not included.
Replacement Borrani 18″ wheels with stainless-steel spokes were mounted with Dunlop tires under current ownership. Braking is from dual discs up front and a single version at the rear that is said to have been fitted with replacement Brembo calipers and Galfer brake lines. Suspension consists of a conventional Marzocchi fork as well as dual chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm.
Clip-on handlebars are mounted below the top triple clamp and front a replacement black plastic dash containing LED indicators, and a refreshed 240-km/h speedometer and tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 22k kilometers (~13,700 miles), 74 of which have been ridden by the seller. Total mileage is unknown. The gauges are said to have been refreshed under current ownership, and the seller notes that the ignition key turns on to the left.
The air-cooled 864cc square-case L-twin is equipped with twin Dell’Orto carburetors that were reportedly overhauled under current ownership as well as an Elektronik Sachse electronic ignition module, a kickstarter, and a polished dual exhaust system. The fuel tank was lined and the bike was fitted with a replacement battery, fuel valves, and fuel lines in January 2022, according to the seller.
Power is routed to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a drive chain.
