This 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 is powered by a 4.0L 3F-E inline-six linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The truck is finished in metallic gray over gray cloth upholstery and it is equipped with locking front hubs, 15″ polished steel wheels, quad rectangular headlights, a receiver hitch, and power windows and locks. Modifications include a 2″ Dobinsons lift kit, LED high beam bulbs, a Pioneer touchscreen stereo, and JBL speakers. The truck was registered in Washington State before it was acquired by the seller in July 2018. Subsequent work consisted of reupholstering the interior, rebuilding the Birfield joints, and servicing the fuel system and front brakes as well as replacing the water pump and rear differential pinion seal. Service in preparation for the sale included changing the fluids for the transmission and differential as well as an oil change. This FJ62 shows 244k miles and is offered with service records, a jack, factory tool kit, a removed factory cassette stereo head unit, roof cross bars, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in metallic gray, and the seller notes evidence of paintwork around the left taillight. Features include quad rectangular headlights, chrome mirror caps, a receiver hitch, mud flaps, a rear window wiper, tinted windows, and a split tailgate. Modifications include Specter Off-Road grille and headlight surrounds, LED high beams, and Bosch fog light covers. The windshield, antenna, taillight lenses, and lens seals were reportedly replaced under current ownership. The fog lights are inoperative, trim is missing from the left rocker panel, chips in the paint are noted around the body, and fading is visible in the paint on the hood and roof.
Polished 15″ steel wheels are wrapped in 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that show 2018 date codes. The suspension was modified under current ownership with a 2″ Dobinsons lift kit, which consists of leaf springs, shocks, a steering stabilizer, and greaseable anti-inversion shackles. The front axle is equipped with manually locking hubs. The Birfield joints have reportedly been rebuilt. The front brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced in July 2018.
The front and rear seats are said to have been reupholstered in patterned gray cloth, and replacement gray carpets line the floors. Equipment includes a rear window defroster, power windows and locks, and a Pioneer touchscreen stereo with Apple Carplay linked to JBL speakers. Fabricated side panels are fitted in the cargo area, and sound-deadening insulation was added to the passenger area, according to the seller. Cracks are visible in the dashboard, and the air conditioning and right front speaker do not work.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 4,600-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 244k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. The fuel gauge is inaccurate below a half tank.
The fuel-injected 3F-E 4.0L inline-six was factory rated at 155 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Work completed in 2018 included flushing the fuel tank, replacing the fuel pump, air cleaner, spark plugs, coolant hoses, and the water pump. The seller states that the battery, the starter, and the alternator and belt were replaced in 2019. The hood insulator is said to have been replaced and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The rear differential pinion seal was replaced in July 2019, and the transmission pan gasket and filter and the fluids for the differential and transmission are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in Washington State and California beginning in 1998.
