This 2000 KTM 640 Duke II is powered by a replacement 625cc SOHC single paired with a five-speed transmission and is finished in two-tone tan and black. Equipment includes an electric starter, a bikini fairing, a two-up seat, a side stand, adjustable WP suspension, Brembo disc brakes, 17” BBS alloy wheels, aftermarket mirrors, and a dual-header exhaust system with under-tail mufflers. The seller acquired the bike in 2008, and work performed in preparation for the sale is said to have included replacing the battery, changing the oil, flushing and refilling the fuel tank, and changing the coolant and brake fluid. This Duke II is now offered at no reserve with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The bodywork is finished in two-tone tan and black with orange accents over a steel double-cradle frame with a gusseted single downtube. Features include a 2.9-gallon fuel tank, a side stand, a bikini fairing with stacked projector-beam headlights, and a scalloped two-up seat with a passenger grab strap. Scrapes on the fairing and right side of the motorcycle are depicted in the gallery below, along with a hole in the seat upholstery. The seller flushed and refilled the fuel tank in preparation for the sale.
Silver-finished 17” BBS cast alloy wheels wear older Bridgestone Battlax BT090 tires. Adjustable WP suspension components include a 43mm inverted fork as well as a piggyback monoshock connected to the aluminum swingarm via a Pro-Lever linkage. Braking is from a Brembo four-piston caliper and 320mm rotor up front along with a Brembo single-piston caliper and 220mm rotor at the rear. The brake fluid was changed in preparation for the sale. The seller notes a weeping fork seal as well as an air leak from the front tire.
The Magura alloy handlebar carries an engine decompression lever and dual aftermarket mirrors. Instrumentation consists of a white-dial 105-mph speedometer, a matching tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline, and indicator lights for turn signals, high beam, neutral gear selection, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, though the seller states that the odometer has not functioned under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. Scrapes on the clutch lever and a bend in the speedometer housing are noted by the seller.
The replacement 625cc LC4 single features liquid cooling, a single overhead camshaft, four valves, a counter-rotating balance shaft, a Mikuni BST 40 carburetor, an electric starter, and a dual-header exhaust system with under-tail mufflers. Factory-rated output was 55 horsepower and 44 lb-ft of torque. The seller replaced the battery and changed the oil and coolant in preparation for the sale.
The serial number on the replacement engine, 2-584*30018*, is shown above and matches the engine number listed on the current California title.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a drive chain.
