This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in black over Charcoal leather and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 18″ AMG Monoblock alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, Parktronic, Keyless Go, heated and ventilated seats, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The car was reportedly sold new at Mercedes-Benz of Pompano Beach, Florida, and it was relocated to Pennsylvania after it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in March 2022. Work in January 2022 is said to have included replacing brake components, the suspension valve block, the valve cover gaskets, the motor mounts, the accessory battery, and the transmission mount. This R230 has 46k miles and SL is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with the owner’s manual, accessories, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Black (040) and features a power-folding convertible hardtop, bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, fender air vents, and AMG-styled bumper covers and aerodynamic side skirts.
The 18″ AMG Monoblock alloy wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires up front and Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires out back. The car features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension as well as electronic stability control and Automatic Slip Control. Work in January 2022 is said to have included replacing the ABC valve block as well as the brake rotors and pads.
The heated and ventilated power-adjustable seats are upholstered in Charcoal leather, and the cabin features a darker upper dashboard and burled wood trim accents. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a wind deflector, Parktronic, Keyless Go, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 46k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Work in January 2022 reportedly included an oil change and replacing the accessory battery, valve cover gaskets, and engine mounts.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mount was reportedly replaced in January 2022. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in Florida, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.
