This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in black with silver coves over a black interior and powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 paired with a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission. Features include an SRIII tube frame chassis with Corvette C5 front suspension and C4 rear suspension, QA1 adjustable coilovers, power steering, an Ididit steering column, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a Painless wiring harness. Additional equipment includes a billet Budnik steering wheel, a removable hardtop, power windows, power four-wheel disc brakes, staggered C5 wheels, a custom dual exhaust system, and a Clarion infotainment system. The car was inherited by the seller in 2005 and was subsequently modified by Barely Street Legal Rod Shop of Bethany, Oklahoma from 2006 to 2011. This Corvette C1 is offered with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, service records, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The fiberglass body is finished in black with silver coves and is said to have been repainted during current ownership. Features include a body-colored removable hardtop, an electric wiper motor, bright-finished trim, quad headlamps, painted mirrors, a chrome grille, bumperettes, and a quad-outlet exhaust system that exits below the rear bumper. The cove moldings and emblems are airbrushed.
The Corvette C5-style 17″ and 18″ aluminum wheels are mounted with Falken GR FK451 tires measuring 245/45 up front and 275/40 out back. An SRIII tube frame chassis is installed which features C5 front suspension and C4 rear suspension, QA1 adjustable coilovers, power steering, and a front sway bar. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The rear wheel wells were tubbed 1.5″.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with silver inserts joined by a matching Al Knoch leather dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Features include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, an Ididit steering column, a Painless wiring harness, Hot Rod Air climate control, a Pioneer amplifier and speakers, power windows, and a Clarion infotainment system. The driver-side power window does not work.
The billet Budnik steering wheel frames a Dakota Digital speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage. The digital odometer indicates 6k miles, all of which were added since powertrain modifications were completed. Total mileage is unknown.
The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 is said to have been sourced from a 2006 Pontiac GTO. Features include a chrome air cleaner, polished serpentine drive pulleys, headers, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission and a Dana 44 rear axle with 3.90:1 gears. A custom mandrel-bent stainless dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers is installed.
