This 1951 Ford Victoria two-door hardtop was acquired by the seller in 1996 and is powered by a 255ci flathead V8 fitted with a Holley four-barrel carburetor as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold and Offenhauser cylinder heads. The car is finished in red with a white roof over black and white vinyl upholstery. Features include a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, Kenwood CD stereo, a 12-volt electrical system, and body-color 15” steel wheels wearing whitewall tires. This Ford Victoria is being offered with a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
The car was reportedly repainted by DX Autoworks of Auburn, Washington in its current shade of red with a white roof in 2007, at which time repairs were performed on the passenger-side rear quarter panel due to rust per the seller. The brightwork was reportedly refinished around two decades ago, and the side and wing windows have been replaced per the seller. The door locks are said to be in need of adjustment, and other noted flaws include corrosion at the bottom of the driver’s door, rust in the trunk and driver-side floor pans, scratches on the front windows, a missing trim fastener, and uneven fitment of the driver-side front fender. A pair of mismatched and unpainted rear fender skirts are included in the sale, along with a replacement front window seal and window felt.
Body-color 15” steel wheels feature chrome trim rings and Ford hubcaps and are mounted with 215/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The seller reports that the rear springs have been replaced, and the brake master cylinder and wheel cylinders were replaced in 2013.
The cabin houses two rows of bench seats that have been reupholstered in black and white vinyl with matching rear side panels. The door panels have been painted black, the headliner and carpets are said to have been replaced, and the shifter relocated to the floor. Additional features include lap belts, a Hurst shifter with an H-shift pattern, opening front 3/4 vent windows, rubber floor mats, and a Kenwood CD stereo wired to two front speakers and two speakers in the rear parcel shelf. The factory radio remains in place, and the seller notes that spare upholstery for the door panels will accompany the vehicle along with the removed column shifter mechanism. The seat adjustment mechanism is not functioning.
A two-spoke steering wheel with an aftermarket cover sits ahead of a Sunpro 8k-rpm tachometer mounted on the steering column, along with a body-color metal dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges, all of which are inoperable. An aftermarket oil pressure gauge is mounted under the dash. The five-digit odometer is inoperable and shows approximately 50k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 8BA flathead V8 was reportedly rebuilt, bored .030″ over, and fitted with a Mercury 4″ crankshaft in 2001. Additional equipment reportedly includes an Edelbrock intake manifold and Offenhauser cylinder heads, a 12-volt electrical system, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Ohio aluminum pistons, Isky Racing 400 Jr. camshaft, Flamethrower ignition coil, and a Mallory distributor. A water pump and the starter were replaced in 2018, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk. The seller notes an oil leak from the rear of the engine, a tapping sound from the oversized valves, and states that the carburetor choke requires adjustment
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive that was reportedly overhauled in 2004 and fitted with a Weber aluminum flywheel along with a 10.5” clutch. The seller notes that the throwout bearing is noisy, the overdrive system is having an electrical issue, and a bolt is missing from the mid-body crossmember. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
