This 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was acquired by the seller’s late husband in October 1983 and has remained registered in California since. It is finished in two-tone silver and gray over red leather, and power comes from a 6.75-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes hydraulic self-leveling suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Panasonic cassette stereo. Work since 2019 is said to include changing fluids, resealing the transmission, and replacing the air conditioning compressor, catalytic converter, parking brake cable, and tires. This Silver Shadow shows 82k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was reportedly refinished in its current two-tone silver and gray under current ownership. Features include a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, a single exhaust outlet, pinstripes, and chrome trim on the bumpers, side molding, window surrounds, and door handles. Imperfections in the finish are shown in the gallery below.
Factory 15″ steel wheels wear polished hub caps and Hankook Optimo H274 tires that were mounted in 2019. The Silver Shadow featured a fully independent, hydraulic self-leveling suspension system. Additional service in August 2019 included replacing the parking brake cable and flushing the brake fluid.
The seller notes that the cabin was reupholstered in red leather under current ownership. Amenities include wood trim and bright accents as well as air conditioning, power windows, a locking glove box, and an aftermarket Panasonic cassette stereo. The air conditioning compressor was replaced in August 2019, and the system was converted to use R134a refrigerant at that time.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 144-mph speedometer and gauges for amperage and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 14k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 6.75-liter V8 is fitted with dual carburetors. Service in 2019 included an oil change and a coolant flush. The seller reports that recent service included repairing the electrical ignition and replacing the catalytic converter. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in August 2021.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a GM-sourced TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission was resealed in 2019.
