This 1955 Gilera 150 is finished in red and black and powered by a 150cc four-stroke single paired with a four-speed transmission. Features include a headlight fairing, a clubman handlebar, a two-up seat, a tire pump, and a center stand. The bike was acquired by the seller in 2010 and work in the time since is said to have included repainting the fuel tank, installing the fairing, boring the cylinder, fitting a 12-volt generator, relining the rear brake shoes, and changing the engine and fork oils as well as replacing the crankshaft, oil pump, and tires. This Gilera 150 is now offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, an Italian-language cycling magazine, a branded track jacket, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The bike has been refinished in red with black fenders and features an aftermarket headlight fairing with a clear windscreen, a 3.4-gallon fuel tank with knee indents, and a two-up Dolomiti seat. Additional equipment includes a branded pedestrian slicer, a frame-mounted tire pump, folding passenger foot pegs, and a center stand. The seller notes the presence of scratches and dings.
Steel 19″ rims were mounted with Heidenau tires circa 2019 and are laced with stainless-steel spokes to hubs equipped with drum brakes. Suspension is provided by a telescopic fork as well as shrouded hydraulic shocks mounted to the swingarm. The rear brake shoes have been relined and squeak intermittently, according to the seller.
A clubman handlebar is secured with U-bolt clamps to the top triple tree and is equipped with barrel-type grips, a headlight switch with a button for the Magneti Marelli horn, and a single bar-end mirror mounted inboard of the left-side hand controls. A 100-mph Veglia Borletti speedometer with a five-digit odometer showing 5,500 miles is recessed atop the headlight shell.
The 150cc four-stroke single was factory rated at 7.5 horsepower and breathes through an 18mm Dell’Orto carburetor with a velocity stack as well as a chrome header pipe flowing into a low-mounted muffler. A 2017 overhaul included boring the cylinder and installing a second-oversize 62mm piston as well as replacing the crankshaft, crankshaft bearings, and oil pump. The electrical system was rewired and converted using a 12-volt direct current generator in 2012, and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a four-speed gearbox with a right-side shifter as well as a drive chain.
The bike is accompanied by an owner’s manual, an Italian-language cycling magazine with a Gilera cover story, a branded size-large track jacket, spare gaskets, replacement clutch plates, and a digital parts manual.
The bike is titled using the number 1862821 stamped on the right engine case.
