This 1971 MG Midget is powered by a 1,275cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in green over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a black soft top, a roll bar, Smiths instrumentation, dual SU carburetors, front disc brakes, 13″ wire wheels, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The car was refurbished under previous ownership around 2014 and was acquired by the seller in April 2022. Subsequent work is said to have included wet-sanding and buffing the exterior paintwork, replacing the convertible top and seats, rebuilding the carburetors, fluid services, and replacing the coolant hoses, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. This Midget is now offered at no reserve with a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The car was repainted in green around 2014 and was wet-sanded and buffed in 2022, according to the seller. Features include a replacement black soft top, three windshield wipers, and bright accessories including a driver-side mirror, re-plated bumpers with overriders, an early-style vertical-slat grille, and bright dual exhaust tips.
Wire 13″ wheels with chrome knock-offs are finished in off-white powder coating, according to the seller, and wear 155-series Pirelli P4 tires. A silver-finished spare secured in the trunk. Suspension components include coil springs up front and semi-elliptical leaf springs at the rear. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The interior features replacement seats upholstered in black vinyl along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include hand-crank windows, vent windows, polished door sill plates, and lap belts. The seller notes that the roll bar was installed during the 2014 refurbishment. A section of carpeting has been affixed to the passenger-side of the dashboard.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 30 of which were added by the seller.
The 1,275cc OHV inline-four is fed by dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 65 horsepower and 72 lb-ft of torque. The seller reports work in preparation for the sale that included rebuilding the carburetors, flushing and repairing the radiator, changing the fluids, and replacing the coolant hoses, spark plugs, and spark plug wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
