This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is finished in Tahoe Turquoise over a matching interior and powered by a replacement 5.0-liter V8 paired with an AOD four-speed automatic transmission and a Currie 9-inch rear axle with a limited-slip differential. Features include a powered white convertible top, air conditioning, power steering, power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes, 17″ Coys wheels, a TCI front suspension with Ridetech coilovers, GT40 upper and lower intake manifolds, MSD electronic ignition, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, and a dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. The car was modified during previous ownership and acquired by the seller in 2022. This Mustang convertible is offered with service records and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Tahoe Turquoise and is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Features include a powered white convertible top, turquoise convertible top boot, chrome-finished bumpers, polished trim on the rocker panels and rear quarter panel scoops, dual mirrors, reverse lamps, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper. Paint chips are shown in the gallery.
The 17″ polished Coys wheels wear three-eared center caps and are mounted with 235/45 Goodyear Eagle Sport tires. The car is equipped with a TCI front suspension with Ridetech coilovers, power steering, and parallel rear leaf springs. Braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood calipers with 12″ drilled and slotted rotors.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in turquoise vinyl with white inserts joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a Pony interior, air conditioning, a retro-style digital stereo, a center console with cup holders, pony-branded floor mats, polished door sills, and faux woodgrain trim on the dashboard and shifter surround.
The three-spoke wood steering wheel is mounted to a tilting Ididit steering column and frames a 140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 5.0-liter V8 features a fuel injection system, GT40 upper and lower intake manifolds, MSD electronic ignition, Ford Racing spark plug wires, Scorpion roller rockers, Sanderson headers, and Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement AOD four-speed automatic transmission and a Currie 9-inch rear axle with a limited-slip differential. A dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers is installed and the over-axle pipes are dented.
