This 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z is finished in white over red cloth and is powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, a rear spoiler, a louvered rear window, 15″ alloy wheels, an Infinity cassette stereo, and power windows and locks. The car was acquired by the seller in 2021, reportedly from its second owner. Subsequent service reportedly included servicing the fuel system and replacing the headliner, hood insulation, brakes, tires, spark plugs, and ignition wires. This Daytona Shelby Z shows 104k miles and is offered at no reserve with a Carfax report and a West Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in white with black side moldings and red pinstripes. Additional features include pop-up headlights, power-adjustable side mirrors, a sunroof, a louvered rear window, and a rear hatch spoiler. The Carfax report shows a salvage title was issued in May 1993 and lists accident damage in a July 1995 entry, though no additional details are provided. A dent in the right door pillar and paint imperfections on various body panels can be viewed in the gallery below.
Silver 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 205/60 Goodyear Eagle GT tires showing 2012 date codes. The seller states that the tires and brakes were replaced under current ownership.
The 2+2 cabin features seating upholstered in red cloth along with matching plastics and carpets. Amenities include power-adjustable lumbar support and bolsters for the driver’s seat as well as cruise control, air conditioning, an Infinity cassette stereo, and power windows and locks. The seller notes that the headliner was replaced, and the dashboard VIN plate is partially obscured.
Instrumentation includes a 125-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, fuel level, and oil pressure. A boost pressure gauge is mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 104k miles, approximately 700 of which have been added by the seller.
The turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four was rated at 174 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in November 2021 is said to have consisted of flushing the coolant, changing the oil, and replacing the valve cover gasket, thermostat, spark plugs, and ignition wires. Additional work performed under current ownership reportedly included powder-coating the valve cover and replacing the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel pickup gauge, fuel injectors, and hood insulation.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible underneath, and additional photos of the underbody are presented in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned salvage title entry in May 1993, notes the accident damage in July 1995, and lists history in Wisconsin, Ohio, and West Virginia. A duplicate title was issued in May 2022, and a redacted photo of the current West Virginia title is provided in the gallery.
