This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and is finished in black over matching leather. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a “whale tail” rear spoiler, a power-operated sunroof, air conditioning, aftermarket exhaust mufflers, and a Pioneer CD stereo connected to Infinity speakers. The car spent time in New York, Florida, and New Jersey before it was acquired by the seller in November 2015. This Carrera coupe is now offered with a Bentley Publishers service manual, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and exterior details include a front spoiler, a “whale tail” rear spoiler, fog lamps, a power-operated sunroof, red Carrera badging, and dual polished exhaust outlets. The Carfax report shows accident damage to the front in December 2007. Stone chips on various body panels are shown up close in the gallery below.
Fuchs 16″ alloy wheels are finished in black with anodized lips and wrapped in Falken Ziex ZE512 tires measuring 205/55 up front and 225/50 out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with red-finished calipers.
The front bucket seats and fold-down rear seats are upholstered in black leather. Appointments include a shortened shift lever, a Prestige alarm system, cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a Pioneer CD stereo connected to Infinity door speakers. Tears are present on the headliner and passenger door panel.
The steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 14k miles. The Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in May 2008, a 35k mileage entry in January 2020, and a 135k mileage entry in April 2022. Total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 3.2L M930/25 flat-six features Bosch Motronic engine management and was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Work in March 2016 reportedly consisted of adjusting the valves, performing a tune-up, and replacing the right-side chain tensioner and oil supply hose.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The seller states that the car is equipped with aftermarket exhaust mufflers. The axle boots were reportedly replaced in March 2016.
Two option code stickers are present under the front hood and show evidence of being relocated. Decoding the sticker reveals the following information:
- CO2 – Equipped with catalytic converter
- 158 – Cassette-radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46
- 243 – Shorter shift lever for G50 transmission
- 395 – 16″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels
- 454 – Cruise control
- 473 – Front and rear spoiler
- 650 – Power-operated sunroof
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident damage, the potential odometer roll back, and history in New York, Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
