This 1977 Land Cruiser FJ40 is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and it is finished in Freeborn Red over black upholstery. Features include 15″ wheels, manually locking front hubs, a tan soft top, a heater, a Sony stereo, aftermarket door speakers, a fire extinguisher, and rear jump seats. Work in March 2021 included replacing the alternator voltage regulator, battery, and transmission and differential seals, while the distributor assembly, spark plugs, wires, and exhaust gaskets and hardware were changed in January 2022. This FJ40 is now offered at no reserve in South Carolina with a shop manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in Freeborn Red with a replacement tan soft top. Additional features include side mirrors, a silver front bumper, and a rear-mounted spare tire. The seller notes spots of corrosion.
Black 15″ wheels with polished rings are mounted over manually locking hubs up front and are wrapped in Aplus Mud Terrain 929 tires.
The interior features front bucket seats and inward-facing rear jump seats trimmed in black upholstery. Equipment include a heater, a fire extinguisher, aftermarket door speakers, a glovebox-mounted Sony stereo, and manual wind-up windows.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 1,800 miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor. Work in March 2021 included replacing the alternator voltage regulator and the battery, while the distributor assembly, spark plugs, wires, and exhaust gaskets and hardware were changed in January 2022. Other recent work has reportedly consisted of repairing the intake manifold, cleaning the carburetor, and replacing vacuum hoses.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Transmission and differential seals were replaced in March 2021, and the seller reports that the transfer case assembly was also recently replaced.
