This 1982 Volkswagen Scirocco was delivered new to Saltnes Volkswagen of San Francisco, California and it remained in the state until the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2021. The car is finished in silver over blue and plaid cloth upholstery and powered by a 1.7-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 13″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, a rear spoiler, a sunroof, and an Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo. Work performed in 2022 is said to have included replacing the accessory drive belt as well as ignition, fuel delivery, and front brake components. This Scirocco is offered by the selling dealer in Oregon at no reserve with a window sticker, owner’s manuals, a warranty and maintenance booklet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Cosmos Silver Metallic and additional features include quad headlights, a rear spoiler, a sunroof, and a rear window wiper as well as black bumpers, side mirrors, and side moldings. A crease in the left-right wheel arch is shown in the gallery in addition to paint chips on the hood and dents in the front valance.
Silver-finished 13″ alloy wheels feature VW-branded center caps and are mounted with 175/70 Ironman tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. The front brake pads and rotors were reportedly replaced in preparation for the sale.
The cabin features seating trimmed in blue cloth with plaid inserts in addition to a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes a carpeted dash cover, manually adjustable sport seats, power mirrors, Scirocco-branded floor mats, and an Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo. Cracks in the dash and discoloration on the top of the right-side door panel are shown in detail in the gallery.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a digital clock. A coolant temperature gauge is located in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 97k miles.
The 1.7-liter inline-four features two valves per cylinder and Bosch fuel injection. Work performed in 2022 is said to have included replacing the accessory drive belt, the distributor cap and rotor, the spark plugs and wires, and the fuel injectors.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
The window sticker shows factory colors and equipment as well as a total price of $11,135.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
