This 1973 Datsun 240Z was purchased by the first owner on April 14, 1973 and subsequently was acquired by the seller in Wisconsin in 1975. The car is finished in blue over black and tan upholstery and is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 14″ slotted aluminum wheels, front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, a heater, and a Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo with aftermarket speakers. Work performed in the previous year is said to have included rebuilding the carburetors, replacing the tie rods, and servicing the brakes and valvetrain. This S30 240Z is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a factory warranty card, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
The car was reportedly refinished in the factory Blue Metallic (115) after damage sustained in a front-end collision in 1975 which required replacement of the hood and front fenders. The rear quarter panels are said to have been replaced at the same time due to corrosion. Equipment includes chrome bumpers with overrider bars and rubber trim, dual side mirrors, and stacked exhaust outlets. Corrosion is noted on the rear panel, on the lip of the left-rear wheel arch, and on the rocker panels.
Polished 14″ slotted aluminum wheels are wrapped in 195/70 Goodyear Eagle GT tires. The suspension is fully independent, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. Work performed in the past year is said to have included replacing the tie rods and brake components.
The cabin features bucket seats with integrated headrests trimmed in tan vinyl with black cloth inserts along with matching carpet and trim. Equipment includes a heater, a leather-wrapped shift knob, manually operated windows, and a Pioneer AM/FM cassette radio connected to aftermarket speakers mounted in the rear compartment.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while a clock and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure reside above the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 85k of which were added by the seller. The odometer has rolled over and true mileage is unknown.
The 2.4-liter L24 inline-six is equipped with twin flat-top SU carburetors that are said to have been rebuilt. A valve service was reportedly performed in April 2022.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible on underbody components, and additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
The sale includes manufacturer’s literature and the factory warranty card.
