This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a two-door hardtop that is finished in red and white over beige upholstery and is powered by a 383ci V8 paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a 9″ Ford rear axle, a limited-slip differential, aluminum cylinder heads, dropped front spindles, aftermarket wheels, power windows, front bucket seats, and front disc brakes. The car has been with the seller in California since 1990. Service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and a coolant flush. This Bel Air is now offered with service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior has been refinished in red and pearl white and features cat-eye taillights as well as chrome bumpers and trim.
Aftermarket 16″ front and 15″ rear wheels wear Cooper and Hankook tires, respectively. The car is equipped with dropped front spindles, power steering, and front disc brakes.
The front bucket seats were reportedly sourced from a Honda and are trimmed in Linen top-grain leather, and the cabin features color-matching trim, red carpets, two-tone door panels, power windows, a billet shift knob, and front lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of aftermarket instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 440 miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 383ci V8 is reportedly equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, an Engle camshaft, roller rockers, aluminum cylinder heads, an HEI distributor, a cross-flow radiator with electric fans, and a dual exhaust system. Service in April 2022 included an oil change and a coolant flush.
The car is reportedly equipped with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a narrowed Ford 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The seller’s service records are included in the sale.
