This 1954 McCormick Farmall Cub tractor was acquired by the current owner circa 1998, and a subsequent refurbishment in 2003 reportedly included disassembling the tractor, repainting the bodywork, and overhauling the engine. The tractor is finished in red with a gray vinyl seat, and power comes from a 59.5ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include headlights, a rear power take-off, and a rear light. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. This Farmall Cub is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner in Napa, California with manufacturer’s literature, shop manuals, and a bill of sale.
The Farmall Cub was produced by International Harvester from 1947 to 1979 and marketed under the McCormick-Deering, McCormick, Farmall, and International nameplates. This example was refinished in red during the refurbishment, and features include factory-style graphics, headlights, a 7.5-gallon fuel tank, a rear power take-off, and a rear light.
Red-finished steel wheels with silver rims are mounted with 4.00-12 agricultural-style tires in front and 9.5-24 Firestone tires out back. The front wheels can be reversed for a wider track, and cracks are visible in the tires.
The operator’s station features a spring-suspension seat with a gray vinyl cover along with brake pedals and a hand-controlled throttle. The tractor is equipped with an electric starter.
The Cub features “Culti-Vision” which offsets the operator from the driveline to afford better forward and downward visibility. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an ammeter, and an oil pressure gauge is mounted under the cowl. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, and the total runtime is unknown.
The 59.5ci inline-four was factory rated at approximately nine horsepower and is said to have been overhauled during the refurbishment. An aftermarket Petronix ignition system has reportedly been fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission, and the power take-off is said to be operative.
