This 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Club Coupe is finished in metallic gray over a two-tone cloth interior and is powered by a 331ci V8 paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, an analog clock, an electric fuel pump, 15″ wheels, and rear wheel skirts. The car was reportedly refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by its current owner in 2018. Service completed in May 2022 included an oil change and replacement of the water pump. This Series 62 Club Coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner in Texas with a service manual and a clean Oklahoma title in the name of the owner’s trust.
The two-door Club Coupe “sedanette” features fastback styling as well as exterior details such as a “Flying Goddess” hood ornament, a split windscreen, a three-pane backlight, rear wheel skirts, and twin P-38 Lightning-inspired tail fins with a concealed fuel filler on the left side. The exterior on this example was refinished in Metallic Gray during previous ownership according to the seller, who notes portions of the chrome trim have been refurbished. A crack and delamination are present on the windshield, paint bubbles are visible on portions of the body, and imperfections are noted on the body-colored windshield visor.
Steel 15” steel wheels wear chrome wheel covers. American Classic 235/70 whitewall tires are mounted at each corner, the trunk contains a full-size spare covered in a carpeted cover.
The cabin features in Gray Bedford cloth and Blue Plain broadcloth upholstery with color-coordinated carpets and trim. Equipment includes a heater, roll-up windows, and an analog clock. A Kenwood stereo receiver equipped with Bluetooth connectivity is mounted in the glovebox and linked to speakers mounted on the rear parcel shelf. The seller notes wear on the dash top as well as discoloration and staining on the seat upholstery, door panels, and interior trim.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a sweeping 110-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer that shows approximately 13k miles. True mileage is unknown. According to the seller, the windshield wipers and left-side turn signals are inoperative, the park light do not come on with the dash switch, and the factory radio does not produce sound.
The 331ci overhead-valve V8 was rated at 160 horsepower and 312 lb-ft of torque when new. A supplemental six-volt electric fuel pump has been installed, and service in May 2022 included an oil change and replacement of the water pump according to the seller, who notes seepage from the oil pan gasket.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hyrda-Matic automatic transmission. Additional photos are presented in the gallery below showing the suspension, chassis, and driveline, as well as corrosion on portions of the mechanical components.
