This 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one of 2,025 Commemorative Edition examples produced to celebrate the C5-R’s class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car remained with its original owner until the seller’s September 2020 acquisition, and it now has under 22k miles. Power comes from a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential and it is finished in Le Mans Blue over black leather. Equipment includes Commemorative Edition-specific polished lightweight wheels, a carbon-fiber hood, racing stripes, and a titanium exhaust system. Work completed during current ownership is said to have included replacing the water pump, drive belts, and secondary air-injection pipes and check valves. This C5 Z06 is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature and accessories, a car cover, three keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The C5 Z06 was only offered as a fixed-roof coupe for increased chassis stiffness and featured a quad-exit titanium exhaust system, mesh grille inserts, and weight-saving measures such as thinner glass and reduced sound deadening when compared to the standard C5. All 2004 Commemorative Edition Z06 models were finished in Le Mans Blue (19U) with silver and red decal stripes adorning the roof, decklid, and carbon-fiber hood. Additional features include commemorative Le Mans badging, pop-up headlights, and rear brake vents.
The polished lightweight wheels measure 17″ in diameter up front and 18″ out back and wear Commemorative Edition center caps as well as 265/40 front and 295/35 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires reportedly mounted in April 2021. The Z06 suspension featured a larger front stabilizer bar, increased damping, and a higher spring rate than the standard Corvette. The car is equipped with active handling and traction control systems, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion power steering, and ventilated disc brakes at all four corners. The seller states the lower control arm washers were replaced in October 2020.
The two bolstered bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with Corvette embroidery on the headrests. Amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings as well as a head-up display, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, cruise control, electrochromic mirrors, and a Bose sound system with an in-dash CD player.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates under 22k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 was based upon the contemporary LS1 and features a refined aluminum block, a higher lift camshaft, a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and increased air and oil flow. Factory-rated output for the 2004 model year was 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The secondary air-injection pipes and check valves were reportedly replaced in April 2021, and the seller states the water pump and drive belts were replaced in April 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a 3.42:1 limited-slip differential.
The window sticker lists factory equipment, colors, options, and a total vehicle price of $57,335. Manufacturer’s literature and accessories are also included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Massachusetts and Michigan.
