This 1982 Jeep CJ-7 is said to be one of 10 examples given away when new at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina as a part a collaboration with Lowe’s Home Improvement, after which it received a refurbishment under previous ownership. Finished in blue with silver graphics over gray upholstery, the truck is powered by a fuel-injected 258ci straight-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a black soft top, soft full and half doors, 15″ American Racing wheels, a Rough Country suspension lift, power-assisted steering, front disc brakes, LED headlamps, a padded roll bar, and a Pioneer stereo. The truck was acquired by the current owner one year ago, and maintenance conducted in March 2022 included adjusting the clutch as well as changing the engine oil and performing an alignment. This CJ-7 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Wisconsin title.
The truck was repainted in blue with silver Renegade graphics under previous ownership. Exterior features include fender flares, a padded roll bar, soft half doors, tubular step bars, LED headlamps, and Lowe’s rocker panel badging. A scratch is noted around the passenger-side door hinge. A black soft top with full doors is shown installed in gallery photographs below.
Polished 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with 35×12.5″ Cooper Evolution M/T tires all around. The ride height is raised approximately 4″ using Rough Country components, and this example is equipped with power-assisted steering and front disc brakes.
The interior features buckets seats and rear bench upholstered in gray along with body-color steel surfaces and gray carpets. Features include a Pioneer stereo, a black dash pad, a locking center console with cup holders, and rubber floor mats.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer with nested fuel level and coolant temperature displays, a voltmeter, and an oil pressure gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 1,400 miles, around 200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 258ci straight-six was fitted with a fuel injection system under previous ownership. Maintenance performed in March 2022 included adjusting the clutch as well as changing the engine oil. Compression test results are presented in the gallery.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case. Additional underbody photographs are provided in the gallery below.
