This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in Roman Red over black upholstery and powered by a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a body-colored removable hardtop, painted 15″ wheels, chrome bumpers and trim, KYB shocks, front disc brakes, a retractable antenna, a Hurst shifter, a black soft top, an analog clock, and a Wonder Bar AM radio. The car was acquired in 2018 by the current owner, and service in June 2022 consisted of changing the oil and replacing the tires, air cleaner base plate, and fuel line. This C1 Corvette is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with service records and a clean Washington title.
The fiberglass bodywork was repaired and repainted in Roman Red by Classy Chassis Autobody of Olympia, Washington in 2002. Additional work consisted of replacing the windshield and trim as well as refurbishing the chrome bumpers. The body-colored hardtop is shown fitted in the gallery below, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, and dual exhaust outlets.
Red-painted 15” steel wheels feature polished hubcaps and were recently wrapped in Cooper Trendsetter SE tires sized 215/70. KYB Gas-A-Just shocks have been added, and stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
The cabin is upholstered in black vinyl, and amenities include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, an analog clock, lap belts, and a Wonderbar push-button AM radio.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a black-painted dashboard housing a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles.
The 327ci V8 was replaced during previous ownership, and service in June 2022 included changing the oil and replacing the air cleaner base plate and carburetor fuel line.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
