This 1969 Volvo 1800S is finished in white over a red interior and powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. Features include a heater, a fold-down rear seat, quarter vent windows, twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, 15″ steel wheels, and a push-button radio. The car was acquired by the seller in 2022, reportedly from its second owner of 50 years. Service in preparation for sale included an oil change, repairs to the fuel tank, and replacement of the water pump, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, radiator hoses, and soft fuel lines. This 1800S is now offered at no reserve with service and registration records along with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in California White (42) and partially repainted in the late 1970s after receiving replacement front and rear body panels following an accident. Equipment includes a chrome left-side mirror, quarter vent windows, chrome grille surround and bumpers, and bright window and side trim. Exterior blemishes include paint imperfections in the rocker panels and right door. Corrosion in the trunk can be viewed in the gallery, along with records of the aforementioned repairs.
Silver-painted 15″ steel wheels wear bright covers and are mounted with Big-O Legacy TMR and Legacy MX tires. The car is equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes as well as KYB rear shocks. Cracks are visible in the tire sidewalls.
The cabin features seats upholstered in red vinyl accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Textured aluminum trim accents the dashboard, and amenities include a push-button radio, an analog clock, a fold-down rear seat, a heater, seat belts, and manually operated windows. The dashboard is cracked, and the carpets are faded.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, and oil and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer is believed to have rolled over once and now shows 88k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter B20B inline-four was new for the 1969 model year and factory rated at 118 horsepower with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The seller states the car received an oil change and a replacement water pump, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, radiator hoses, and soft fuel lines in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. The seller states leaks in the fuel tank were repaired in preparation for sale.
Service and registration records are included in the sale.
