This 1986 Toyota 4Runner is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and it has been modified with a lifted suspension, aftermarket exhaust headers, a K&N air filter, a Kenwood head unit, and aftermarket front and rear lockers. Factory equipment includes a removable hardtop, 16″ alloy wheels, locking front hubs, power steering, and air conditioning. The truck has been registered in Tennessee and Colorado and was acquired by the seller in 2021. Work performed since consists of replacing the clutch slave cylinder, the power steering hose, the left outer tie rod, and the pitman arm and right-lower ball joint. This 4Runner shows 177k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in red and features a matching removable hardtop with a power rear and sliding side windows as well as mud flaps, a receiver hitch, and a rear window wiper. The seller notes blemishes around the body including dings, scratches, and paint fading in addition to rust and a partially repaired dent on the left quarter panel.
The 16″ alloy wheels are mounted with 265/75 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires said to have been replaced in 2021. The truck has been modified with an aftermarket 2″ lift kit with Rancho shocks, and factory equipment includes power steering and Aisin manually locking front hubs. The left outer tie rod, the pitman arm, and the right-lower ball joint were replaced in December 2021. Curb rash is pictured on the wheels.
The cabin features reclining bucket seats upholstered in beige cloth and vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include rear seats, air conditioning, a heater, rubber floor mats, and a Kenwood CD stereo. The air conditioning is reported to have been converted to R134a refrigerant under prior ownership, and the seller notes a crack in the dash.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 177k miles, approximately 350 of which were added under current ownership.
The fuel-injected 2.4L 22R-E inline-four was factory rated at 116 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. A K&N air filter has been installed, and work performed under current ownership included the replacement of the clutch slave cylinder and the power steering hose.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A Detroit rear locker and a Truetrac front locker have been installed along with 4.88:1 gears. Aftermarket exhaust headers have been fitted to an exhaust system that is said to have been replaced under previous ownership in 2021. The seller notes oil leaks from the front differential and rust on the underside components.
The window sticker shows initial delivery to Fox Toyota of Clinton, Tennessee, along with factory colors, options, and a total of $14,508.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and displays history in Tennessee and Colorado.
