This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet was purchased new at Manhattan Imported Cars in Rockville, Maryland, by a cousin of the current owner, and it spent its life in the District of Columbia until it was recently relocated to California. The car is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in Granite Green Metallic over Linen leather. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, sport-tuned shocks, a green soft top, power windows, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, a short shifter, cruise control, and air conditioning. This Carrera cabriolet is now offered on dealer consignment in California with the owner’s manual, service records, original purchase documents, tools, a clean Carfax report, and a clean District of Columbia title.
The car is finished in Granite Green Metallic (L699) with a power-retractable green soft top and a convertible top boot. Additional equipment includes integrated fog lights, impact bumpers, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. Paint imperfections are noted, including stone chips and touch-up paint, and the left door and front fender were repainted in 2003.
Black 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels with polished lips are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires that were installed in November 2021. The car is equipped with optional sports shocks, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features front seats upholstered in Linen leather along with matching door panels, a contrasting dashboard, and black and white fiber floor mats. Amenities include a short shifter, cruise control, air conditioning, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and power windows and locks.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quartz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 30k miles. Worn odometer gears were diagnosed in November 2021, and total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 3.2L M930/25 flat-six features Bosch Motronic engine management and was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in June 2021, and the battery was replaced in May 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle.
Decoding the option sticker reveals the following information:
- L699 – Granite Green Metallic paint
- CO2 – Equipped with catalytic converter
- 158 – Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 cassette stereo
- 243 – Shorter shift lever for G50 transaxle
- 395 – 16″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels
- 439 – Electric soft top
- 454 – Cruise control
- 474 – Sport shock absorbers
The original purchase invoice from Manhattan Imported Cars in Rockville, Maryland, lists codes for optional equipment as well as a total cash price of $60,905.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in Washington, D.C.
