This 1972 Triumph Bonneville is powered by 649cc parallel twin mated to a five-speed transmission and features a two-into-two exhaust system, a ventilated front drum brake, a two-up seat, and a chrome grab rail. The bike was acquired by the seller in 2012, reportedly from its original owner, and service in April 2022 included cleaning the carburetors, changing the oil, and replacing the battery, Zener diode, headlight bulb, fuel valves, and fuel lines. This Bonneville 650 is now offered at no reserve with a service manual and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The fuel tank and fenders were repainted gold with white accents and black pinstripes under previous ownership. Equipment includes black side covers, a hinged two-up seat, a chrome grab rail, and both center and side stands. Paint chips as well as chrome corrosion are noted on the bodywork, trim, and wheels.
Chrome wire-spoke wheels are mounted with 3.25-19 front and 4.00-18 rear Dunlop Gold Seal tires showing sidewall cracks. Suspension consists of a conventional fork as well as dual shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is from drums at both ends, the front of which features a forward-facing ventilation duct and a dual leading-shoe design.
The chrome handlebar fronts instrumentation consisting of a 10k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 4k miles, approximately 50 of which have been ridden by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 650cc parallel twin was factory rated at 50 horsepower and features twin Amal carburetors, a two-into-two chrome exhaust system, and a kickstarter. Service in April 2022 included cleaning the carburetors, changing the oil, and replacing the battery, Zener diode, headlight bulb, fuel valves, and fuel lines. The seller notes dents and corrosion on the exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a wet multi-disc clutch, a five-speed transmission that is shifted on the right, and a drive chain.
The number T120VEG55705 stamped on the engine case matches the one stamped on the frame, a photo of which can be viewed in the gallery. The title list the VIN as T120RVEG55705.
